With the birth of my second child in 2004, I was thrilled to be breastfeeding , but really disappointed at the lack of tops suitable for breastfeeding mums in Australia. I tried a couple of tops from overseas, but found them not only uninteresting but also quite cumbersome. I simply wasn’t comfortable trying to deal with different layers and awkward slits which were supposed to allow me ‘easy’ access to my nursing bra underneath.

After my second child eventually started sleeping through (oh, those magic words!), and my mental capacity started to return to normal, the idea of a breastfeeding tank top which was not only functional but most importantly still fashionable, was finally born.
